Memoir VT
We have been
committed to non-fiction since the explosion of memoir in the
1990’s. Let us show you how this popular genre can be a bridge
to literacy, differentiated instruction, and Common Core
Standards.
Rather than taking separate courses in these
different educational initiatives, participants in our memoir
workshops or courses embrace them all at once.
Our in-service workshops and graduate courses are a
way, not a how to. Participants learn by
doing:

they use our
models to “read” themselves;

they use our
models to write their own memoir pieces;
-
they apply these
reading and writing strategies to critical analysis of
literature;
And finally, they leave with these
strategies and their writing to share with and inspire their
students.
